Privacy Policy

Effective October 25, 2026. This policy covers sellmyfolsomhouse.com, the website of Daniel Smallie, a real estate salesperson with Real Estate Source Inc. It explains what information the site collects, why, who handles it and the choices you have.

The short version

• The site collects what you choose to send through its two forms or by email, phone or text.
• Daniel uses it to reply to you personally. You aren’t added to a mailing list, newsletter or customer-relationship (CRM) system, and your information isn’t sold.
• The site uses temporary browser storage to make section links work between pages. This navigation feature is not used for advertising or visitor profiling.
• You can ask Daniel at any time to show you, correct or delete what you sent, or to stop contacting you.

Information you give us

Homepage contact form (“Get in Touch”). Your name, email address, an optional phone number, the topic you choose (buying, selling, local market questions or just connecting) and your message.

Home value request form (Sell a Home page). The property’s city or ZIP code, when you’re thinking of selling, the home’s general condition, how you prefer to be contacted, your name, email address, phone number and any notes you add.

Both forms also send the name of the form and the page it was sent from, so Daniel knows which request he’s answering. If you call, text or email Daniel directly, he receives whatever you include, plus your phone number or email address.

Please don’t send Social Security numbers, bank or loan account numbers, or other sensitive documents through the forms or by email.

Information collected automatically

Like other websites, this site is delivered by a hosting provider whose servers receive standard technical information with each request: your IP address, browser and device type, the page requested, the referring page, and the date and time. That information is used to deliver the site, keep it working and protect it against abuse. It isn’t used by Daniel to identify or profile visitors.

To make section links work between pages, the site temporarily records the destination URL, section and time in your browser’s session storage. The next page reads and clears that navigation record; it does not contain form submissions and is not used for advertising or profiling. Some form fields may be prefilled from the link you follow. The site’s authored code does not add advertising pixels or social-media tracking. Netlify’s handling of technical requests is described below.

How the information is used

• To read your message and reply personally by your preferred method.
• To prepare the home value conversation or other help you asked for.
• To keep a record of your inquiry and the replies, so follow-up stays accurate.
• To filter spam and protect the forms from misuse.
• To meet legal obligations, if any apply.

Your information isn’t used for marketing campaigns or automated follow-up, and it isn’t sold or shared for cross-context behavioral advertising. If Daniel ever wanted to send you updates, he would ask you first and separately.

Who handles it

Netlify hosts the website, receives form submissions, screens them for spam, stores them in the site’s form records and sends a notification email to Daniel. Netlify’s own practices are described in its privacy statement.

Google (Gmail). Form notifications, and any email you send, arrive at Daniel.Smallie@gmail.com. Daniel’s replies are sent from that account. Google’s practices are described in the Google Privacy Policy.

Your own providers. Calling, texting or emailing from a link on this site opens your own phone or email app. Your phone carrier or email provider handles that message under its own terms.

If you decide to work with Daniel on a purchase or sale, the information needed for that transaction is shared with the people involved in it (for example, the brokerage, escrow, a lender or the other party’s agent) under the agreements that apply to that transaction. Information may also be disclosed if the law requires it.

How long it’s kept

Form submissions remain in the site’s Netlify form records, and the notification emails and replies remain in Daniel’s email, until they’re deleted. Daniel keeps an inquiry while it’s useful for answering you and following up on that conversation. If the inquiry leads to a transaction, records connected with that transaction may need to be kept longer under the rules that apply to real estate records. There’s no fixed automatic deletion date. You can ask for deletion at any time.

Your choices

You can ask Daniel to:

• tell you what information he has from your form submissions or messages;
• correct anything that’s wrong;
• delete your submissions and messages, unless a record has to be kept for a legal reason; or
• stop contacting you.

Email Daniel.Smallie@gmail.com or call (916) 741-3030. Daniel may ask you to confirm a detail from your original message before acting, so information isn’t given to the wrong person. Depending on your circumstances, California law may give you additional rights; contact Daniel to make a request.

Do Not Track signals

The site does not change its response to browser Do Not Track signals. Its navigation storage is used only to carry a section destination between pages. Hosting providers and external sites handle requests under their own privacy policies.

Links and outside resources

This site links to other websites, including Daniel’s MetroList home-search site, his profiles on real estate and review websites, and government and industry sources cited in the guides. Those sites have their own privacy policies, which apply once you leave this site. Property photographs on this site are stored on this site, not loaded from outside image services. Some pages load typefaces from Google Fonts, which receives standard request information when those pages are viewed.

Security

The site is served over HTTPS, and form submissions are handled by the hosting provider rather than by custom code. No website or email system is completely secure, so please limit what you send to what’s needed for a first conversation.

Children

This site is meant for adults planning real estate decisions. It isn’t directed to children, and Daniel doesn’t knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has sent information, contact Daniel and it will be deleted.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new effective date. For a material change, such as a new kind of information collected or a new way it’s used, a notice will also appear on the site’s homepage before the change takes effect.
